Dragon Island

Quick demo for our students on how to design a cool game map.

- Ideal city placement (near water, ports, fertile lands)
- Dry/Wet areas of the island (according to sun rise/set direction)
- Direction of wind and how that effects the landscape

  4. This is awesome! Love that you shared the design facts to keep in mind when drawing a map: "- Ideal city placement (near water, ports, fertile lands) - Dry/Wet areas of the island (according to sun rise/set direction) - Direction of wind and how that effects the landscape"

  5. Wow cool! This is a really under-appreciated element in games, and it's really hard to nail the proper feel for something like this. Do you think you could do a design cinema on this? I'd love to see what else I could pick up from you on the subject.

  6. I can see my house from here. This style of map takes me back... Monkey Island comes to mind and so does Baldur's Gate 2. As always, I'm very impressed at how you can render and stylize your work to suit an end project. Love it, want it for my wall.
